2 Peter 1:3-4
3 By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.4 And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.
With all of our complaints and fears of being good enough. God leaves us with no more excues. He has given us all we need to live a good and wholesome life.
The terrifying thing about all that God has done for us, is the realization that our dependence on Him is more than past tense. We need Him now and more tomorrow. Left to ourselves, sin and temptation crouch at the door. Without His promises and life, there is no hope.
May we be people that rely on Him and all that He has promised us. Through Him, we can escape the corruption of the world. Through Him, I can share in who He is. I can be a partaker of the Divine Nature. What an awesome revelation! I can know God. My life can be intertwined with His.
The next time a try to make an excuse. I must remember the corruption that waits at the door is there because of human desire and not divine will. I must first do no harm. I must not do the things that will bring destruction. I am without excuse. God has given me all I need through His promises to share in the divine nature. I have all I need for life and godliness.
